| Announcing The Addition of PayPal To The epsilonpi.com WebsitePublish Date: Thursday, February 18, 2010 A major new capability has been added to the epsilonpi.com website effective immediately. The new capability is PayPal—a commonly accepted and secure method of paying for goods and services on the Internet. The initial application on our website will be for the payment of EPAA dues meaning you can now pay your dues electronically. Here is what to expect.
At the top right hand side of the epsilonpi.com homepage, there is a new icon button that says “Pay Dues.” Clicking on this button will take you through a process that allows you pay dues selecting one of two options: (1) to pay dues for one year (12 months for $25.00) or (2) to pay dues for three years (36 months for $60.00). Initially, everyone in our database will see the “Pay Dues” button even though a very small number of EPs have paid their dues for several years in advance. We will be updating the records in our software to reflect your “paid up” status. If you use the PayPal system, you will receive an e-mail confirming that your dues are paid up.
The way the system has been designed, if you do not see the button asking if you wish to pay your dues, it means that you have paid your dues and no dues are due at this time. The next time you will see the “Pay Dues” icon on the home page will be either 12 or 36 months forward from the month and year in which you paid your dues. This new feature is a significant upgrade in both the efficiency of collecting dues and the record keeping associated with that practice. The fees charged by PayPal for their services are more than offset in postage savings and the on-going maintenance of our records. In short, a tremendous saving of time, money, and effort.
To use PayPal, it will require that you know your User Name and Password. You may use your e-mail address in place of your User Name to log in, but you must know your password. We strongly urge that you change your password (if you have not already done so) when the screen appears asking if you wish to update your profile. Make sure the accuracy of your profile is current and the spelling of your name, e-mail address, and (new) password are correct.
If you need further assistance using PayPal or if you have a specific question, you can click on “Send Your Comments” above the envelope icon on the left hand side of the EP Homepage or send an e-mail to Bill Hladio, EPAA President at hladio.bill@gmail.com., Dr. Ralph Carlson, EPAA Treasurer at RECarlson@gcc.edu., or Jerry Nairne, EP Webmaster, at jerome.nairne@TPA4TSA.com., and we will respond to your inquiry. As is the case with any software upgrade, there are likely to be a few glitches during the start-up phase of PayPal, but everything should work as advertised within a few days. In the future, you can anticipate using PayPal to order and pay for EP merchandise found on the EP Store as well as other applications such as the golf outing and Homecoming. |
